Cleanroom Air Control Systems

Cleanroom Air Control Systems: High-Accuracy Environmental Regulation

In a sterile facility, the air is the primary vehicle for both safety and contamination. Metrolabs provides high-accuracy Air Control Systems, engineered to act as the “brain” of your cleanroom. These systems manage the delicate balance of pressure, filtration, and airflow to ensure that your facility remains a “Clean Shell” protected from particulate intrusion.

Our control solutions are designed for long-term performance, providing the structural and digital oversight required for ISO-class compliance in pharmaceutical, biotech, and semiconductor manufacturing.

Integrated Airflow Management

A Metrolabs Air Control System synchronizes multiple structural components to maintain a stable, aseptic environment.

Dynamic Pass Box (Active Filtration)

The Dynamic Pass Box is an advanced structural unit that acts as a localized cleanroom environment. It is designed for material transfer between a non-classified area and a sterile zone, or between two different ISO classes. Active Air Scrubbing: Equipped with an integrated motor blower and HEPA Filters (H14), it "washes" the surface of materials with Grade A air before they enter the cleanroom. Recirculatory Flow: Utilizes a closed-loop airflow system with a G4 Pre-filter to ensure particulates are captured and removed instantaneously. Pressure Management: Maintains a higher internal pressure than the surrounding rooms to ensure an outward "clean sweep" when doors are accessed.

Static Pass Box (Passive Integrity)

For material transfer between two rooms of the same ISO class, the Static Pass Box serves as a high-integrity structural barrier. Hermetic Sealing: Features medical-grade silicone gaskets and electromagnetic interlocks to ensure the pressure gradient of the facility is never breached. Aseptic Chamber: The internal chamber is fabricated from SS 316L with large radiused (coved) corners, allowing for total "wipe-down" sterilization. Visual Monitoring: Double-glazed toughened glass viewing panels are mounted flush with the door frame, maintaining a "Zero-Ledge" profile.

Pass-through Cabinets (High-Volume Logistics)

When your facility requires the movement of bulk supplies, heavy equipment, or Cleanroom SS Trolleys, our Pass-through Cabinets provide the necessary scale and structural strength. Floor-Mounted Design: Engineered to be installed level with the cleanroom floor, allowing for the seamless transit of wheeled carts without lifting. Reinforced Construction: Built for long-term performance with heavy-gauge stainless steel to withstand the impact of high-volume industrial use. Custom Configurations: Available in "Dynamic" versions with integrated HEPA filtration or "Static" versions for simple, large-scale airlock transit.

Specialized Control Logic

Metrolabs customizes air control protocols for the specific needs of high-stakes sectors:

  • Dynamic Pass Box Control: Manages the automated filtration and interlocking logic for material transfer gateways, ensuring a Grade A environment within the chamber.

  • Fume Hood Integration: Synchronizes the room’s supply air with the exhaust demands of chemical hoods to prevent turbulence or loss of containment.

  • VHP Sterilization Mode: A specialized override setting that prepares the HVAC Ducting and dampers for room-wide Vaporized Hydrogen Peroxide cycles.

The Metrolabs Advantage

We focus on the high-accuracy fabrication of both the hardware and the software that governs your air.

  • Touchscreen HMI: Provides an intuitive interface for facility managers to monitor environmental health at a glance.

  • Zero-Ledge Sensors: All wall-mounted sensors and displays are designed to be installed flush with our Modular Cleanroom Panels, eliminating dust-collecting protrusions.

  • Fail-Safe Operation: Our systems include redundant backups to ensure that even during a component failure, the room remains pressurized and sterile.

Technical Insight: To ensure the most accurate readings, we recommend placing your Differential Pressure Sensors away from the direct path of Air Grilles & Diffusers. This prevents “false readings” caused by local air turbulence and ensures the system reacts to the true atmospheric state of the room.
